Dave has spent his entire career in the fields of business management and leadership. Dave has work experience with a national (Big 4) public accounting firm, a local public accounting firm, and from his solo public accounting practice.  This experience in public accounting provided exposure to multiple industries including manufacturing, grain distributors, cattle traders, and retail merchandisers. Dave also has extensive experience from his work in corporate positions first as a controller then as a CFO. His corporate experience included construction (both in general contracting and construction trades) and retail merchandising.

Dave has a proven record of working with all members of the management team to enhance each member’s operational effectiveness. He is effective in implementing operational reports that assist non-financial members of the management team. All effective financial reporting is rooted in good operational data.  Dave believes in working with non-financial members of the management team to gather this data.  In turn, this leads to timely and accurate financial reports.

Dave has worked with companies having plentiful sales leading to ample profits.  He has also worked with companies experiencing declining sales leading to declining profits and declining cash.  He brings firsthand experience to the table regarding the necessities of what it takes to keep a business running in good times or bad times. His real-life experiences have taught Dave you never abandon the fundamentals that you know are necessary to operate and maintain a successful business.  The primary focus is on customers that allow you to make a profit and maintain cash flow. Dave helps the business owner and CEO focus on profitable customers and planning for the future of the company. 

Dave graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BBA degree. He earned this degree in four years while working thirty plus hours per week to pay his college expenses. Dave and his wife Susie have two children and five grandchildren. Hobbies include quail hunting, reading (primarily of the founding period of American History, military history related to World War II and American Presidents) and following the activities of the grandkids. He and Susie enjoy spending time at the beach.
